This started as a "scratch pad" for me to keep track of what I was working on, but I realized that return visitors to STRAW.COM would find a list of changes and additions helpful in finding what was new. December 16, 2007 - Panda Silk Ribbons Socks have

December 15, 2007 - a sweet, airy lace shawl knit with

- a blend of kid merino, kid mohair and micro nylon.

Taos Entrelac
Vest


September 10, 2007 - Entrelac sounds complicated as
you read how to do it, but once you start - it's a matter
of following the triangles and squares and a lot of fun.
This vest is designed to show off the subtle, striated
color changes in Taos. The entrelac section is limited
to the bottom front of the vest, the rest is all plain
stockinette stitch. An excellent project to learn entrelac!

originally designed to be a men's sweater, but we

and the subtle changing colors make the simple pattern interesting.

Star Bamboo Needles
New from CPY


May 7, 2007 - CPY has added a new Japanese made bamboo needle range to our offerings. We call them Star Bamboo and each is marked with size and a little star logo. We have 7" double points in sets of 5 which include the sock knitter's needed sizes of US 1.5 and 2.5. Single points come in two lengths: 10" and 13". We are working with the Japanese manufacturer to add circulars, too.
We, of course, continue to offer our Original CPY Bamboo Needles in the dark brown color which have pleased knitters for more than 20 years. The new STAR Bamboo are lighter in color, and also made from top quality hard bamboo and treated with a natural vegetable wax to finish and harden them.

The striated color dyeing techniques are the same as used
for our popular Taos yarn and the yarn is just as soft with softer colors than Taos.
Kaya is a chunky plied weight that will knit up quickly at 3-3.5 sts/inch.

who has helped us in so many ways
with the launch of our first sock yarns.
She's tested yarns, knit mini-socks, developed patterns,

and been an all-around wonderful email correspondent
about more-than-socks, too! Kudos abound!

using our new sock yarns, Panda Cotton and Panda Wool.

January 20, 2007 - We are ever so pleased to announce
the imminent arrival of the self-published book:
TWELVE BAGS FULLED by Terry Ross, our favorite bag designer.

The book will feature a year's worth of 12 felted bags,
each themed for the month.
Plus instructions and tips on felting and a mini-bag for practice.

January 9, 2007 - Sock Knitters! We have wonderful socks coming to CPY Web site!
With help from Laura Andersson and her sock-knitting-pals and some of our other sock contacts we gathered up a group of fabulous sock knitters to try out our new yarns (and some other of our yarns, too) and I'm busy photographing them and editing patterns for this site. So check back soon for some truly exciting and free sock patterns! We have received some of our Panda Cotton, but all the Panda Cotton and Panda Wool will arrive in early February and I should have the patterns ready for the yarn arrival. Bamboozle yarn is already in stock and shipping. You'll love knitting our 3 new Bamboo yarns on CPY Bamboo Needles!
