Beginning a Circle

When beginning a circle there are several ways to begin.
See our 2 Pinwheel Sweaters: Pinwheel Drop Shoulder Sweater and our Pinwheel Raglan Sweater for one reason you may need to begin a circle.

A note from Gail Tanquary, designer of the Pinwheel Drop Shoulder Sweater:
"I found it awkward to actually begin with DP needles. Doing a YO at the beginning of a DP needle and keeping all the sts going in the right direction is a challenge. I actually started the circle using the size 7 - 16" circular needle and knitting back and forth in rows until I got to the 9th round, then joined the work into a circle and continued. I just sewed up the little seam (about 3") and it does not show. Perhaps that would be a better option, especially for the less experienced knitter."
