Drop Stitch Cowl

Description: This super easy cowl is beautiful, light and airy. It uses dropped yo stitches to create bands of simple lace. It is worked back and forth, then the ends are sewn together to create the cowl.

Level: Easy

Size: Approx. 8" high x 35" circumference

Materials:

1-50g Crystal Palace Sausalito (shown in 8107 "Fall Herbs")
Crystal Palace Bamboo 26" or 35" circular in US size 8, or size needed for gauge
Tapestry needle

Gauge: 3 sts=1" in garter and drop st patt

Abbreviations: BO- bind off, CO- cast on, garter st- knit every row; k- knit; p- purl; rep- repeat; st(s)- stitch(es); x- times; yo- yarn over

INSTRUCTIONS

This pattern is worked back and forth on circular needles The circular needles are used to accomodate the width of the cowl.

Loosley CO 105 sts. Work garter st for 6 rows. Begin Drop Stitch Pattern.

Drop Stitch Pattern:

Next Row: * k1, (yo) 2x; rep from * to last st, k1.

Next Row: * k1, drop the 2 yo's; rep from * to last st, k1

Work 6 rows of garter st.

Repeat these 8 rows 5 more times.

BO loosely. Sew up seam. Enjoy!
