Ladders Drop Stitch Scarf

Description: This simple scarf is made up of garter-stitch bands alternating with double yarn over dropped stitch bands, creating a beautiful ladder-lace design. This pattern takes just one skein to make.

Level: Easy (garter stitch, yo's, dropping yo's)

Size: 49" x 5"

Materials:
1 skein of Crystal Palace Allegro Lace (shown in 3086 "Lavender")
Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles: 9" Single-Points in US size 5 (or size needed for gauge)
Tapesty needle

Gauge: 6 sts = 1" over garter stitch

Abbreviations: BO- bind off, CO- cast on; k- knit; rep- repeat; sl- slip; st(s)- stitches; yo-yarn over

INSTRUCTIONS

CO 29 sts. Knit 8 rows, slipping the 1st stitch of each row. Begin Drop Stitch pattern:

Row 1: Sl 1, *yo twice, k1; rep from * to end of row.

Row 2: Sl 1, *drop the 2 yo's, k1; rep from * to end of row.

Rows 3-8: Sl 1, k to end of row.

Repeat these 8 rows until piece measures 51", ending with a Row 8. Knit 1 more row. BO loosely. Weave in ends.
