Cozy Mittens (One-Ball Project!)

Description:  Inca Clouds is the ultimate cozy yarn to combat winter!  These mittens are quick to make, soft and warm to wear.  One ball will make a pair.

Level: Easy/Intermediate (working in the round on dpn's, inc, dec, holding sts to be reworked later)

Size:  Child = 7" circumference x 8" high;  Adult =9" circumference x 10.5" high

Materials: 

  • 1 ball of Crystal Palace Inca Clouds (Child shown in 806 "Pansy Purple", Adult shown in 406 "Peruvian Lilies")
  • Crystal Palace Bamboo 6" or 8" double-pointed needles in US size 8 (or size needed for gauge)
  • 2 stitch markers
  • Scrap yarn (~12"-18")
  • Tapestry needle

Gauge:  3.5 sts=1"

Abbreviations:  beg- beginning; CO- cast on; dpn-double-pointed needle; dpn- double-pointed needles; k- knit;  k2tog- knit 2 stitches together; kfb- knit in the front and then the back loop of the stitch, increasing by one; p- purl; p2sso- pass the 2 slipped stitches over the stitch just worked;  patt- pattern; pu- pick up; rem- remaining; rnd- round; ssk- slip, slip, knit (slip one stitch knitwise onto working needle then slip the next stitch knitwise onto working needle, slip back onto left needle and knit together; St st- stockinette stitch; st(s)- stitch(es)
