Panda Cotton Stria Dyed

Toe-Up Twist Socks on Two Circs

Designed by Kyle Ann Williams and knit by Angie Kachelmeier

Description:  This pattern is worked from the toe-up on two circular needles.  It features short, staggered 4-st cables on the leg, with a comfy, garter-stitch heel.

Level:  Intermediate (knowledge of sock construction, cables)

Size:  Woman's M

Materials:

Gauge:  8 sts & 12 rows = 1"

Special Stitches:

C4F- Cable 4 Front (Slip next 2 sts to a cable needle or toothpick and hold in front of the work, knit the next 2 sts, then knit the sts from the cable needle.)

MM1- Modified Make 1 (With LEFT needle tip, pick up sts between last st on rt needle and 1st st on left needle. Do not transfer this st to the right needle – it will be knit together with the next st)

Rnd 3: *K4, C4F, rep from * around
Rnds 4-6: Knit
Rnd 7: *C4F, K4, rep from * around

INSTRUCTIONS

Using figure-8 method and 2 circs held close together, cast on 32 sts (16 on each needle). (Note: If you are not familiar with this cast-on method, just search the internet. There are several sites with great pictures demonstrating this method).

Rep these 2 rounds until there are 72 sts (36 on each needle)
