Description:  This one-skein cowl is soft and stylish.  It features eyelet chevrons on a background of stockinette stitch, with yarn-over picot edging on top and bottom.

Level: Easy/Intermediate (working in the round, basic eyelets, picot hem)

Size:  35" circumference x 8" high

Materials: 

• 1 skein of Crystal Palace Panda Pearl (shown in 9120 "Spice Market")
• Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles - 26" circular in US size 7 (or size needed for gauge)
• Stitch marker
• Tapestry needle

Gauge:  4 sts = 1"

Abbreviations:  k- knit; k2tog- knit 2 stithes together to decrease by 1; p- purl; st- stitch; yo- yarn over

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Cast on 133 sts.  Join, taking care not to twist sts.

Rounds 1-4:  Knit

Round 5:  *yo, K2 tog* all around.

Rounds 6-9:  Knit

Round 10:  Purl

Rounds 11-12: Knit

 

Follow the Chart, working rows 1-18 twice.

 

Knit one round, Purl one round.

 

Knit 4 rounds.  Next round:  *yo, K2 tog* all around.   Knit 4 rounds.  Bind off loosely,using larger needle if necessary.  Fold on yo rows to form hems.  Slip st in place.

Note:  When knitting in the round, all rounds are read left to right.  Alternate rounds are knitted.
