Eyelet Vine Cowl

Adapted from the Silken Ease Scarf by Kyle Ann Williams
Knitted by Angie Kachlemeier

Description:  This cowl pattern was adapted from the Silken Ease Scarf, originally knitted in Panda Silk. A soft, lacy wide cowl that works up quickly in an easy lace pattern, with a border of garter stitch. This cowl is worked in the round on circular needles.

Level:  Intermediate

Size:  9½" high x 22" circumference

Materials: 

Gauge:  6 sts=1" in patt st

Abbreviations:  BO- bind off; CO- cast on; garter- when knitting in the rnd, k 1 rnd, p1 rnd, etc. to form garter ridges; k- knit; k2tog- knit 2 together; p- purl; p3tog- purl 3 stitches together; rep- repeat; rnd- round; RS- right side (outsidde of project); sl- slip; ssk- slip, slip, knit; St(s)- Stitch(es); St st- stockinette stitch (k the right side rnds and p the wrong side Rnds); yo- yarn over

 

INSTRUCTIONS

CO 132 sts.  Join and begin working in the rnd.  Work 1" of garter stitch, ending with a k rnd.

 

Begin Vine Pattern:

Rnd 1: Work row 1 of chart to end of rnd.

Rnd 2: K.

Rnd 3: Work row 3 of chart to end of rnd.

Rnd 4: K

Rnd 5: Work row 5 of chart to end of rnd.

Rnd 6: K

Rnd 7: Work row 7 of chart to end of rnd.

Rnd 8: K

Repeat these 8 rnds until piece measures 9" from cast-on edge, ending with a Rnd 8.

Then work 1" in garter, ending with a p rnd.  BO loosely in k.  Weave in ends.
