Description:  This slouch-style hat features alternating bands of eyelets and 3 x 3 cable. It is knit on needles slightly larger than is typical for the yarn to allow for more drape and wearability.  See the matching Cables 'n Lace Cowl and Cables 'n Lace Mitts for the whole ensemble.

Level:  Intermediate (knowledge of basic cables and eyelets recommended)

Size: 18" circumference x 9.5" high (unstretched)

Materials: 

• 1 skeins of Crystal Palace Allegro Lace (shown in 3001 "Stone Gray")
• Crystal Palace Bamboo Needles:  16" circulars in US sizes 3 & 5 and 8" double-points in US size 5 (or size needed for gauge)
• Cable needle
• Stitch marker (to mark beg of rnd)
• Tapestry needle

Gauge:  7.5 sts = 1" over pattern

Abbreviations:  BO- bind off; C6L- cable 6 left (slip next 3 stitches on cable needle an hold in front of work, knit next 3 stitches, then knit the 3 stitches off the cable needle; CO- cast on; k- knit; k2tog-knit 2 stitches together; p- purl; rep- repeat; st(s) - stitches; x- times; yf- yarn forward (bring the yarn forward when making a knit stitch to make an eyelet hole - increases by 1 stitch); yo- yarn over (bring yarn around needle to make an eyelet hole - increases by 1 stitch)
